Gladstone Hockey Association is passionate not just about Hockey, but also getting people physically active. Unfortunately, there has been a steady decline in the number of participants over the years and through many discussions it has been identified that the cost of sport is a factor in this decline. Given this feedback we have decided to try and do something different this year to combat these fees!
Gladstone Hockey Association is organising a virtual fundraising event during the month of March and has teamed up with Donatelife in support of spreading the word on Organ and Tissue Donation.
The idea of the event is to get people moving and physically active, raise funds for GHA as well as to raise awareness for Donatelife. It is hoped that this event will provide an opportunity and promote having a conversation about Organ Donation with your loved ones.
How this will work:
Why team up with Donatelife?
Several members of our association have been affected by organ transplants either through a family member or friends. Even as a sporting association we have the capacity to make a difference in the world by supporting and promoting Organ and Tissue Donation. By teaming up with Donatelife we are able to give back to a worthy cause while promoting hockey!
How can you really help?
You spoke. We listened.
One of the major feedbacks GHA have received as to why hockey is loosing member numbers is the cost associated with the sport. GHA are trying something new but need your support to make this event a truly successful one.
We are looking forward to seeing people’s progress towards their chosen distance goal. So, get your body moving, raise funds for GHA and help raise awareness for a truly deserving cause to help someone by donating organs to those in need!
